Abstract

This article explores the role and significance of corpus linguistics in learning Uzbek as a second language. Although corpus-based language learning has been widely studied and successfully applied in teaching various languages—particularly English—there is still a noticeable lack of teaching materials developed on this basis for learners of Uzbek. Despite the presence of theoretical discussions, practical educational programs grounded in this approach are virtually nonexistent. The article aims to analyze the theoretical foundations of corpus-based approaches, review their application in other languages, and assess the potential of implementing this methodology in the context of the Uzbek language. It also considers the specific features of existing Uzbek language corpora and their applicability to language learning.
