This article analyzes the theoretical and practical significance of constructing a diachronic corpus based on publications from the independence period. The transition of the Uzbek language to an official status after independence, the introduction of new words and terms, grammatical and syntactic changes, and the evolution of textual styles can be systematically studied through a diachronic corpus. The study examines the fundamental principles of corpus linguistics, technologies for digitizing and annotating historical texts, and the identification of contemporary trends in the development of the Uzbek language.
