Abstract

This article analyzes the role of learner corpora in linguistic research and language teaching. It highlights major educational corpora in English, Greek, Turkish, and Uzbek including the International Corpus of Learner English, British National Corpus, Cambridge International Corpus, Turkish Student Corpus, and TELC focusing on their structure, application areas, and their role in error analysis. The process of creating an educational corpus in Uzbek is discussed, with attention to text selection, compiling a glossary, and systematizing materials, emphasizing both scientific and practical significance. The study demonstrates how corpora can be used to assess learners’ language proficiency, analyze grammatical errors, and develop effective teaching materials.
