Abstract

This article examines the significance of machine translation in the modern era and the pressing issues related to developing contemporary translation systems for the Uzbek language. In particular, it addresses challenges in translating synonyms, homonyms, and polysemous words, as well as difficulties in translating scientific and official texts between English and Uzbek. Additionally, the study explores morphological and syntactic issues and the importance of a contextual approach in translation. The article also discusses sentence models essential for machine translation and analyzes existing research in this field. Furthermore, the capabilities and limitations of the "Google Translate" system are evaluated. The primary objective of this research is to investigate the linguistic foundations of machine translation technology based on terminological parallel corpora for translating scientific and official texts (in Uzbek and English) and to resolve issues related to developing modern translation systems for the Uzbek language.
