Abstract

This article examines the formation of pragmalinguistics, its main principles, and the concept of discourse within this framework. It highlights the multifaceted nature of discourse and its relevance in linguistic research, based on various theoretical perspectives.
The main approaches and methods of discourse analysis are considered. The theories put forward by different authors are compared, and the discourse is evaluated based on modern approaches. Such aspects as speech acts, context, presupposition, and allusion are revealed through examples.
